Khánh Hoà punishes fishing boats that fail to install surveillance cameras

Khánh Hoà People’s Committee has just directed coastal local authorities in writing to control the installation of surveillance cameras on fishing boats.

Khánh Hoà People’s Committee required the Chairman of People’s committee of districts, towns and cities with a coast line to instruct agencies and units, that are directly under the local government, to impose measures of controlling the installation of regulated surveillance cameras on fishing boats. This must be reported to the provincial People’s Committee by April 20.

Vice Head of the Khánh Hoà Fisheries sub-department Võ Khắc Én said that the province had 480 of 701 fishing boats installed with surveillance cameras. 34 of them with the length of at least 24m have been finished installing, the ones that are under the installation are 15-24m long.
