Mitsui invests 100 million USD into Vietnam’s shrimp companies

In his working session with Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, Chairman cum CEO of Japan’s Mitsui & Co has announced to invest 100 million USD into Vietnam’s shrimp companies.

Mitsui agreed to invest 100 million USD into Minh Phú Seafood Corporation to boost its shrimp exports with cold storage and freezing wearehouse system included. Minh Phú’s shrimp exports reach 700 million USD per year. It is expected to be one billion USD following the cooperation with Mitsui.

Mr Phúc highly appreciated Mitsui’s investment, especially when Vietnam is making efforts to reach shrimp exports of 10 billion USD in 2025. This is a possible future direction of development.

Besides, Mitsui is working with ministries, sectors and agencies related to Vietnam to boost the project of Lot B gas exploitation and hopes to get approval by Vietnam’s Prime Minister.
