In the morning of March 11, the Inspectorate of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bạc Liêu province implemented the destruction of 530,000 shrimp seeds that had not undergone quarantine inspection and were imported into the province.

Previously, in the evening of March 10, during patrols and inspections along the Quản Lộ – Phụng Hiệp route, when passing through the area of Vĩnh Phú Tây commune (Phước Long district), the team discovered the truck with license plate 85H-005.64, driven by Lương Khang Nhật Khánh (from Ninh Thuận province), was unloading shrimp seeds from the truck.

Upon inspection, the authorities found that the truck was carrying over 530,000 shrimp seeds (white leg shrimp and black tiger shrimp) that had not undergone quarantine inspection. The driver failed to show any relevant documents related to the mentioned shrimp seeds. The team drew up a record, sealed the truck, and requested the driver to take the vehicle to the headquarter of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

On December 18, 2023, the Bac Lieu provincial police cooperated with relevant agencies to destroy more than 2.7 million shrimp seeds without quarantine inspection certificates.
