Propose to the General Administration of Customs of China to sign a protocol of seafood exports soon

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has just sent an official document to the General Administration of Customs of China asking them to finalize the protocol of seafood exports soon. Plus, consider approving some more fruits, species, seafood products to be exported to China and some businesses entitled to sell in China.

On June 08, Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) sent a diplomatic note to the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) proposing the consideration of approving some fruits, species, and seafood products to be exported to China and some businesses entitled to export to this country.

MARD sent a Delegation to come to work with the authority and the Administration of Customs of Guangxi and Yunnan (China) from May 29 to June 02 so as to promote the cooperation and increase the value of agricultural product trade between the two countries through provinces with the same road border gates.

After the meeting, the Delegation and the Administration of Customs of Guangxi and Yunnan (China) agreed to propose GACC to finalize the “Protocol between GACC and Vietnam’s MARD about food safety, quarantine, and examination of imported and exported seafood products between Vietnam and China”.

Some fruits, species, and seafood products are considered to be exported to China and some businesses are considered to penetrate this country. All these subjects have been checked and approved upon the order no.248 and no.249 by GACC. Besides, the proposal involves the exportation of live aquatic species through the border gates in Yunnan province so as to reduce the workload in border gates and create the most favorable conditions for businesses.

MARD proposed GACC to direct the Administration of Customs of Guangxi and Yunnan to exchange the professional process, update information for prompt handling of incidents, and enhance the capability of clearance.

An annual meeting between provincial Administrations of Customs and Vietnam’s functional institutes is celebrated in November with the participation of frequent contacts.
