2.5 million shrimp seeds exported to Taiwan

On September 23, Kim Hoang Quang Nam Aquatic Breeding JSC, based in Thang Binh District, Quang Nam, celebrated a significant milestone by exporting 2.5 million Mebi One shrimp seeds to Taiwan.

The seeds were delivered to YONG SING SEAFOODS CO., LTD, marking a new chapter in the company’s push toward international markets.

This partnership follows more than a year of field trials at Taiwanese shrimp farms, where Mebi One seeds were put to the test under real-world farming conditions. The results exceeded expectations, meeting all the necessary growth criteria set by farm operators. The positive feedback paved the way for Kim Hoang Quang Nam and YONG SING SEAFOODS CO., LTD to formalize their commercial cooperation, aiming to expand the presence of Mebi One shrimp seeds in Taiwan.

At the signing ceremony, YONG SING SEAFOODS CO., LTD placed an initial order for 2.5 million shrimp seeds, valued at $10,000. This deal marks the first step toward a broader goal, with total sales expected to reach $300,000 by 2024-2025. These early successes signal a promising future for Mebi One as it seeks to break into other challenging shrimp farming markets across Asia.

Kim Hoang Quang Nam’s state-of-the-art production facility, located in Binh Nam Commune, spans 8.5 hectares. Of this, 4.5 hectares are dedicated to the production of shrimp seeds, while the remaining 4 hectares house auxiliary infrastructure, including an experimental technology transfer zone. The facility, which has an annual capacity of 5 billion shrimp seeds, operates with modern, advanced processes designed to ensure consistency and quality. Key infrastructure includes management offices, algae culture areas, Artemia production units, and other essential facilities that support high-tech shrimp seed production.

Huynh Cong Tuan, Chairman of Kim Hoang Quang Nam Aquatic Breeding JSC, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating: “Our collaboration with YONG SING SEAFOODS CO., LTD to export Mebi One shrimp seeds to Taiwan is an important first step. It allows us to affirm the value of Vietnamese shrimp seeds and introduce our high-quality products to Taiwanese consumers. We see this as the beginning of many more cooperation opportunities in the future.”

The successful export of Mebi One shrimp seeds to Taiwan highlights the growing recognition of Vietnamese shrimp breeding technology and its potential to meet the rigorous standards of international markets. As the company continues to expand, this partnership sets the foundation for further international collaborations, potentially opening doors to other demanding markets across Asia.
