Bình Định: Call for 1,500 billion capital for a 230ha hi-tech shrimp farm
The project of a hi-tech based agricultural zone for shrimp culture in Mỹ Thành will involve a shrimp processing factory with a capacity of 20,000 tons of commercial shrimp per year, reaching USD 256 million of export value.
Bình Định provincial People’s Committee has just approved the project of a hi-tech based agricultural zone for shrimp culture in Mỹ Thành of Phù Mỹ district.
The project is conducted in 230ha of land, with 126ha for production and processing, nearly 47ha for the management counter, and 55ha for the auxiliary facility. The project will be funded over 1,498 billion dong and last 50 years (since the investor receives the land lease contract). The project must be completed within three years since the effective date of the contract.
The project is designed to establish a hi-tech based agricultural zone for shrimp culture in Bình Định.
In the second quarter of 2026, all the facilities of the project will be put into operation. And as such, a shrimp factory with a capacity of 20,000 tons of commercial shrimp per year and export value of USD 256 million, and an aquatic feed factory with a capacity of 100 thousand tons per year will be built and put into operation.
Accordingly, a hi-tech based shrimp culture zone which is designed to produce 11,450 tons per year will also be launched. The project will provide jobs to about 4,000 – 5,000 people.
The project involves models of exhibition, production and demonstration of probiotics, feed, drugs for shrimps, and environmental treatment medicines. Besides, a trade transaction platform related to shrimp and supporting industries will be built.
According to the Bình Định provincial Center of Investment Promotion, the province has attracted 19 new projects funded more than 7,908 billion dong and raised capital for three projects with 2,840 billion dong.
