Đồng Nai releases more than 350.000 fish fries for ecosystem restoration

So as to effectively fulfill the protection, restoration and development of aquatic resources, Đồng Nai provincial department of Agriculture and Rural Development celebrated the event of releasing fish on November 17 for the second time this year.

According to the Đồng Nai provincial department of Agriculture and Rural development, the province has a system of Đồng Nai, La Ngà and Thị Vải rivers with a total of nearly 70,000 ha of water surface. Besides, there are 18 reservoirs and over 16 large and small rivers and channels that facilitate the development of aquatic species.

However, overfishing and destructive exploitation are still problems. Thus, protecting, preserving, and restoring aquatic resources are urgent and needs special attention.

For effective protection, restoration and development of aquatic resources in the province, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development annually deploys the plan of releasing fish.

The fisheries have been producing high economic products for the last few years, contributing to the development of the province’s social economy. The seafood value is estimated to reach 2,500 billion dong in 2022, up 4% from the same period last year with the output of 69,200 tons. The fisheries continue to see the extension and improved extension models being replaced with the intensive and semi-intensive practices.

According to the Đồng Nai provincial department of Agriculture and Rural Development, as many as 392,241 black tiger post larvae, mud crab, and seabass fries will be released on November 18, 2022.
