Many provinces hold fish releasing ceremonies to conserve marine resources

Releasing fish to conserve marine resources and preserve ecosystem balance is one of the series of events commemorating the 65th anniversary of Fisheries Traditional Day (April 1st).

On March 31st, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in collaboration with the Quảng Ninh provincial People’s Committee, organized a fish releasing ceremony at Phương Đông Beach, Vân Đồn District, Quảng Ninh. As many as 5 million aquatic breeding stocks were released into the Gulf of Tonkin, including 4.9 million black tiger shrimp and over 10 thousand striped bass and seabass.

“Releasing fry to regenerate aquatic resources should be carried out upon the preservation of the clean environment of rivers and seas. Releasing fish into the sea, bringing plastic waste ashore,” should be the action message for all of us,” emphasized Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Lê Minh Hoan.

In the afternoon of March 31st, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hải Phòng City, in collaboration with Cát Hải District (Hải Phòng), organized the release of aquatic breeding stocks into natural waters, regenerating aquatic resources in the waters of Cát Bà in 2024. Cát Hải District released over 1 million breeding stocks into the saltwater area, including various species such as mullet, striped bass, and black tiger shrimp into Cát Bà. This 2024 event is to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Uncle Hồ’s visit to Cát Hải and the opening of Cát Bà tourism destination in 2024.

In the morning of April 1st, at Xuân Đài Bay (Sông Cầu Town), Phú Yên province, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in collaboration with the People’s Committee of Sông Cầu Town, the provincial Fisheries Association, and the Provincial Buddhist Committee, organized a ceremony to release aquatic breeding stocks to regenerate resources.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, over 600,000 12-15 black tiger shrimp posts were released in the coastal area of Xuân Đài Bay. This is an activity to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese Fisheries Industry (April 1, 1959 – April 1, 2024); 49 years since the Liberation Day of Phú Yên Province (April 1, 1975 – April 1, 2024).
