Binh Dinh’s ocean tuna meets EU, US, Japan standards

From July 11th to 15th, the “Binh Dinh Ocean Essence 2024” festival with the theme “Binh Dinh – Aspiration for the Sea” took place in Quy Nhon City.

According to Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, implementing Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018, of the Central Executive Committee (12th term) on the Strategy for Sustainable Development of Vietnam’s Marine Economy until 2030, with a vision to 2045, Binh Dinh has set out policies for sustainable fisheries exploitation, good protection of aquatic resources, achieving reasonable growth rates, and applying scientific and technological advances in fishing, preservation, and processing of seafood.

Binh Dinh has a strong fleet of fishing vessels specializing in ocean tuna, with 1,400 professional vessels annually catching nearly 14,000 tons, accounting for over 60% of the country’s ocean tuna production.

Recently, Binh Dinh has attracted investments in seafood processing factories for export, including products labeled “Binh Dinh Ocean Tuna,” meeting all standards and exported to EU, US, Japan markets…, contributing to increasing export turnover, creating jobs, enhancing production value, and gradually making the marine economy a key sector in the province’s economic structure.

The Binh Dinh Ocean Essence 2024 festival includes a series of activities: the Culinary Festival of Delicacies from the Sea; the OCOP Fair, craft villages; the Street Festival; the Light Festival…, leaving a unique mark of Binh Dinh, offering interesting experiences for tourists and local people; spreading the beautiful image of Binh Dinh’s land and people, the essence of the coastal land of Binh Dinh to domestic and international tourists.

This is also an event in the series of summer tourism activities in 2024 aimed at enhancing Binh Dinh’s position on the Vietnam tourism map, attracting domestic and international tourists, inviting investors to explore and join hands in developing Binh Dinh.
