Khanh Hoa Establishes 23 high-tech marine aquaculture zones
The Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has approved the coordinates, locations, and areas for 23 high-tech marine aquaculture zones across the province. These include 15 zones within 3 nautical miles from shore and 8 zones located between 3 and 6 nautical miles offshore.
Under the approved plan, 15 zones within the 3-nautical-mile range will apply advanced aquaculture technology, covering a total area of nearly 1,444 hectares.
Specifically, Van Ninh District is home to 10 zones spanning nearly 1,165 hectares in areas such as Nam Dai Lanh, Nam Mui Doi, Northwest Lach Cua Be, Southwest Lach Cua Be, Nam Hon Me, Vung Ke, Mui Co Co, Nam Cum Meo, Bac Cum Meo, and Ran Trao. In Ninh Hoa Town, four zones covering a total of 266 hectares have been designated, including Southwest Hon Cha La, Bai Giong, Hon Thi, and Southwest Hon Lang – Hon Giua. Meanwhile, Nha Trang City features one 13-hectare zone at Tri Nguyen Island.
The establishment of these high-tech aquaculture zones aims to leverage Khanh Hoa’s coastal advantages while fostering a modern and sustainable fisheries industry. Additionally, this initiative is expected to attract investment in marine farming, enhance economic value, and improve the quality of local seafood products.
With this strategic direction, Khanh Hoa continues to strengthen its position as a leading high-tech marine aquaculture center in central Vietnam, opening new growth opportunities for the fisheries sector in the years ahead.
