One more Vietnamese pangasius exporter to US enjoy zero tariff

On March 21, 2022, the Federal Register announced the notification by the United States Department of Commerce regarding the final result of the seventeenth antidumping duty administrative review (POR17) on frozen pangasius imported from Vietnam from August 01, 2019 to July 31, 2020.  During this review, the NTSF SEAFOODS would be imposed the antidumping duty rate of 0% when exporting frozen pangasius fillet to the US.

This will facilitate either NTSF SEAFOODS or Vietnam’s pangasius exporting companies to sell pangasius to the US in future. Besides, the EASTERN SEA FISHERY JOINT STOCK COMPANY (ESS) is imposed the antidumping duty rate of 3.87 USD/kg and the GREEN FARMS SEAFOOD JOINT STOCK COMPANY is imposed the antidumping duty rate of 1.94 USD/kg.

Accordingly, there are four Vietnamese companies that enjoy the antidumping duty rate of 0%, including VINH HOAN Corp; VD TG, NAVICO and NTSF SEAFOODS. The CASEAMEX is imposed at the rate of 0.15 USD/kg and BIEN DONG SEAFOOD is imposed at the rate of 0.19 USD/kg. The antidumping duty rate that is imposed on companies all over the country is 2.39 USD/kg.

In 2021, there were ten Vietnamese companies related to pangasius exportation to the US market, with VINH HOAN CORP, NTSF SEAFOODS and BIEN DONG SEAFOOD ranking the top three firms of the biggest export value.

As of the end of February, 2022, the total export value of pangasius to the US reached USD 94.57 million, up 119.7% from the same period last year. In February alone, the export value reached nearly USD 42 million, up 167%. By the end of February, the US had been the biggest importer of Vietnamese pangasius.
