Minister Nguyễn Xuân Cường emphasized that “yellow card” warning from EC was such an opportunity for sustainable development of Vietnam’s fisheries. He said that Vietnam was developing measures to overcome the warnings by issuing Fisheries Law, completing by-law document, implementing national action plan to prevent, minimize and eliminate (IUU) fishing and advising fishermen to strictly follow the Law. This has shown Vietnam’s determination in preventing IUU fishing for a sustainable fisheries development.
