Quảng Ngãi to destroy of 21 white spot infected shrimp ponds
The National Agriculture Extension Center in Bình Sơn district People’s Committee (Quảng Ngãi province) has decided to destroy 21 infected shrimp ponds by 11 households in Bình Dương and Bình Chánh communes.
The whole dead shrimps in 21 ponds with total area of 49,700m2 owned by 11 households in Bình Dương and Bình Chánh communes of Bình Sơn district have been destroyed following a diagnosis of white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) and bacteria Vibrio parahaemolyticus.
The People’s Committee of Bình Sơn district assigned the Office of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside and work with the district’s Agriculture Service Center and the People’s Committees of Bình Dương and Bình Chánh communes to destroy the species in accordance with technical process regulations and sterilize the farming area and destroying area.
They are requested to monitor and report the epidemic situation surrounding the destroying area and related farming area before, during and after the destruction to tackle the situation promptly, if any.
At the same time in Bình Chánh commune, the district’s Agriculture Service Center received a call from an officer of Bình Chánh’s Agriculture Extension – Animal Health Office informing the inexplicable death of shrimps in 17 ponds owned by 9 households in Mỹ Tân village of Bình Chánh commune, who stocked white leg shrimps (originated from Bình Định, Bình Thuận and Ninh Thuận) from Feb 28 to Apr 04, 2020.
