Hà Tĩnh: Fishermen has an abundant crop of sea tiny shrimp
In the last few days, fishermen in coastal parts of Hà Tĩnh province set forth on a nearshore fish exploitation and came back home with boats filled with tiny shrimps.
Bùi Tuấn Sơn, Director of the Management Board of the Hà Tĩnh fishing port said that since Nov 18, 2020, there have been 30-50 turns of boats full of tiny shrimps arriving at the Cửa Sót fishing port of Thạch Kim commune, Lộc Hà district, with around 1-2 tons of tiny shrimps being collected per day. Likewise, coastal communes in Nghi Xuân, Cẩm Xuyên, Kỳ Anh, and Kỳ Anh and Thạch Hà towns are busy with tuna shrimp trading.
Fishermen Dương Đình Cảnh in Thạch Lạc commune of Thạch Hà district said that since the storm no.13, tiny shrimps appear in a large quantity along the coast of Hà Tĩnh province. On the 160CV boat and 3 fishermen, he collected around 9 tons of tiny shrimps in three days.
According to fishermen in Hà Tĩnh, traders offer 6,000-8,000 dong/kg of tiny shrimps at fishing ports. Not only do they meet the domestic demand, tiny shrimps can be exported after being processed. The tiny shrimp season lasts from October (lunar calendar) to May of the next year. Besides fish sauce, salted shredded meat, and other recipes, tiny shrimps are dried to use as daily food.
