Building disease-free facilities to improve shrimp brand

Ms. Phan Thị Mỹ Hương – the deputy CEO of Vinhthinh Biostadt Hatchery, said that to achieve this certificate, the company has spent 24 months constantly and frequently taking samples for testing, and making sure that all samples were negative to 3 kinds of disease, namely White Spot Disease (WSD), Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND) and Hypothermal and Hematopoietic Necrosis Virus (IHHNV). The certificate is a result of the company’s endeavoring period. Mr. Huỳnh Minh Khánh, Deputy Head of the Sub-Department of Livestock Production and Veterinary noted that as the Ministry of Agriculture stated in the Circular No. 26/2016/TT-BNNPTNT regarding disease-testing regulations for animals and seafood products, the certified facilities do not have to take samples for testing in order to reduce samples, testing time, costs and workforce. In addition, the program on building disease-free facilities for animals also contributes to improving Ninh Thuận shrimp’s reputation and image in the market. Thus, in the near future, the province will motivate, guide, encourage and support investment firms to form systematic progress so as to scale up the number of certified facilities, aim to sustainable production and improve product brand, accordingly, to be a well-deserved center of high-quality shrimp stock production of the country.
