The province’s orientation towards fisheries and aquaculture development until 2030 includes approximately 1,709 hectares of aquaculture ponds; about 2,150 hectares of cage and pen aquaculture in lagoons, bays, and coastal areas; approximately 300 hectares of high-tech aquaculture areas (including approximately 70-100 hectares for lobster farming on land); and development of 1,000 hectares of industrial cage and pen aquaculture in open sea areas.
Given the potential, strengths, and current situation of the fisheries sector, to develop the province’s fisheries industry, Phú Yên proposes cooperation in several areas: Development of sustainable exploitation and aquaculture, especially for lobster seed , tuna, and seaweed. Collaboration in processing, trade promotion, marketing, and investment in lobster, tuna, and seaweed production and business. Enhancing human resource capacity in harvesting, aquaculture, and processing for the export of lobster, tuna, and seaweed (including research, sharing of scientific and technological knowledge, study programs, and training).
During the working session, both parties agreed on several issues regarding cooperation in the sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture.
This working visit is based on the Framework Agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia on November 8, 2023.
