On June 27, in Cộng Hòa commune of Cẩm Phả city, Quảng Ninh province, the National Agricultural Extension Center held an event of stocking white leg shrimp to deploy the small size industrial shrimp farm which will be developed upon a supply chain. Over 600 thousand PLs were stocked in ponds of two households.
This is a model established upon the cooperation of five parties (manager; scientists; suppliers of breeding stocks, feed, environmental treatment products, facilities of collecting and selling products; shrimp farmers, and product quality certificate organizations).
The model is carried out by the National Agriculture Extension Center, the Directorate of Fisheries, Quảng Ninh provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Research Institute for Aquaculture No.1, and Quảng Ninh provincial Center of Agricultural Extension, businesses, and shrimp production facilities.
In 2023, the National Agricultural Extension Center deployed the small size industrial shrimp farming model, which is carried out upon a supply chain, in Cộng Hòa commune of Cẩm Phả city, Quảng Ninh province. The stocking will be conducted in three stages: the first one on June 27, 2023 in two households, in a 1 ha pond filled by 800 thousand breeding stocks; the second one on July 12, 2023 in a 2 ha pond filled by 1,600 thousand breeding stocks, and the third one in a 2 ha pond filled by 1,600 thousand breeding stocks.
This is the first stocking to deploy the small size industrial shrimp farm which will be developed upon a supply chain in Quảng Ninh. Two households in Cộng Hòa participated in stocking 600 thousand shrimp breeding stocks. Besides, households are supported with feed, probiotics, and water testing.
Lê Quốc Thanh, Director of the National Agricultural Extension Center affirmed that the implementation of the small size industrial white leg shrimp farming model upon a supply chain will help farmers control disease outbreaks and water environment, hence increase in output and productivity.
