An Giang contributes 1.2 billion dong to regenerate fishery resources
An Giang has had 146 organizations and 323 individuals contribute a total of 1.2 billion dong into regenerating natural fishery resources so far.
In the morning of Oct 31, 2020, an event of releasing fishes to renegerate fishery resources was launched in the border of Vàm Nam river of Tân Trung commune, Phú Tân district, An Giang province. The event was held by the provincial Department Agriculture and Rural Development in association with the Directorate of Fisheries (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), Phú Tân district People’s Commune, Representative board of Hoà Hảo Buddhism and An Giang Fisheries Association.
With slogan “Together protect the environment, protect and develop natural fishery resources”, this event is meaningful and realistic and aims to proper, effective, stable and sustainable exploitation without using deadly fishing gears and catching prohibited species.
Nguyễn Sĩ Lâm, Director of An Giang’s department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the province stocked 118.6 tons of baby fishes, valued at 5.8 billion dong from 2012 to 2019.
