De Heus and Seaprodex collaborate to boost shrimp and pangasius exports
On March 26, De Heus and the Vietnam National Seafood Corporation (Seaprodex) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate in the shrimp and pangasius sectors. This partnership not only represents a strategic milestone but also underscores De Heus’ long-term commitment to fostering the sustainable growth of Vietnam’s seafood industry.
Through this agreement, De Heus and Seaprodex will work closely with Vietnamese aquaculture farmers to enhance product quality and expand export opportunities, particularly in the European market.
As a leading provider of animal nutrition and farming solutions, De Heus will offer advanced nutritional programs, modern aquaculture technology support, disease control strategies, and an efficient supply chain for shrimp and pangasius. These efforts are aligned with sustainability goals, focusing on emission reduction and environmental protection through innovative technologies.
Additionally, De Heus will facilitate connections with export partners, strengthening access to the high-potential European market. This initiative is expected to unlock new opportunities for Vietnamese seafood on the global stage.
Seaprodex, leveraging its expertise, will continue developing sustainable farming areas, sourcing high-quality seafood, and processing products that meet international export standards. This approach aims to solidify the shrimp and pangasius value chain.
A Strategic Alliance for Sustainable Growth in the Seafood Sector
With its vision of “Enhancing Vietnam’s Livestock Sector” and a commitment to sustainable development, De Heus continuously improves product quality, strengthens the value chain, and enhances the global reputation of Vietnamese seafood, especially in Europe.
As a market leader in Vietnam’s independent animal feed sector, De Heus is dedicated to sustainable growth through close collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment. The company has signed an agreement to research and develop animal feed ingredient production zones under a modern cooperative model. This initiative aims to boost Vietnam’s self-sufficiency in raw materials while creating new agricultural development opportunities for farmers.
Across its global markets, particularly in Vietnam, which contributes around 25% of De Heus’ total production, the company’s investments and business strategies are guided by a shared vision of sustainability. De Heus focuses on building robust agricultural value chains, improving farm productivity at the local level, and providing consumers with safe, antibiotic-free, and fully traceable food products.
Previously, the De Heus Aquafeed Factory in Can Tho, specializing in high-quality pangasius and basa feed, was established with an annual production capacity of 240,000 tons. This facility has played a key role in supporting farmers by providing access to superior genetics, technical management solutions, financial resources, and market connections, paving the way for sustainable success in Vietnam’s pangasius sector.
The partnership between De Heus and Seaprodex reaffirms De Heus’ commitment to becoming a trusted partner for farmers and businesses in Vietnam’s aquaculture, livestock, and agricultural industries.
