According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, from August to December 2021, the total seafood production in Đồng Nai is estimated at 27,450 tons, including freshwater shrimp, giant river prawn, snakehead, pangasius, tilapia, etc.
The seafood production in the province on a monthly average reaches 5.5 thousand tons, in which about 4 thousand tons is for the consumer demand in this area, and the rest is purchased by merchants to supply for other provinces in the country, especially those neighboring areas.
Currently, many aquacultural areas in Đồng Nai including pangasius farming area in Vĩnh Cửu District, trevally farming area in Định Quán District, shrimp farming area in Nhơn Trạch District, etc. are storing hundred tons of harvest seafood, awaiting merchants to come to purchase.
