Greenfeed Tay Ninh earns ASC certification, boosting Vietnam’s sustainable aquafeed credentials

Vietnamese feed producer Greenfeed Tay Ninh has received certification from the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) for its aquafeed operations, marking a significant step forward for the country’s aquafeed industry in aligning with global sustainability standards.

The certification confirms that Greenfeed’s production meets ASC’s strict criteria on traceability, environmental protection, social responsibility, and transparent supply chain management. It underscores the growing ability of Vietnamese feed companies to supply responsibly produced aquafeed to international markets.

Greenfeed, established more than two decades ago, has built an integrated value chain that spans from raw materials to finished products. The company aims to support farmers in improving production efficiency and adopting sustainable aquaculture practices.

One of Greenfeed’s key focus areas is frog farming, a niche but fast-developing segment in Vietnam’s aquaculture sector. Although frog meat enjoys strong export potential, the industry continues to struggle with seed quality, disease management, and antibiotic use.

To address these challenges, Greenfeed has developed its Aquagreen, Superwhite, and Panafeed feed ranges for both juvenile and grow-out stages, designed to ensure feed safety, balanced nutrition, and compliance with national regulations. The company’s manufacturing facilities operate under ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) standards.

Greenfeed’s aquafeed lines have also maintained Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification since 2014, reaffirming their quality and adherence to international requirements. Beyond feed production, the company works with farmers to develop certified farms, optimize stocking densities, improve animal health management, and promote responsible antibiotic practices.

These initiatives have enabled Vietnamese frog producers to reach export-grade quality standards. Greenfeed’s processed frog products, such as frozen frog legs, are now shipped to markets across Europe, South America, Oceania, and Asia,  including Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China.

For tilapia, Greenfeed is developing a specialized value chain aimed at improving farm performance and expanding export potential. Its Panafeed range is formulated for pond and cage culture, supporting consistent growth, lower feed conversion ratios, and reduced production costs. The company is also introducing biosecure and cost-efficient farming models, enabling certified tilapia production for export to key international markets.

Beyond frogs and tilapia, Greenfeed continues to expand its 3F Plus integrated model, covering pangasius, red tilapia, marine fish, and eels, from feed production through processing. The approach reinforces Vietnam’s position as a competitive and responsible aquaculture producer capable of meeting the world’s growing demand for sustainable seafood.
