47 fishing ports are eligible to marine product traceability

47 fishing ports located in 18 coastal provinces have been listed for confirmation of exploited maritime product traceability.

On March 26, 2019, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) issued Decision no.988/QĐ-BNN-TCTS regarding notification of 38 fishing ports in 16 coastal provinces that are appointed for confirmation of exploited maritime product traceability. Eighteen among those are ranked level I and twenty are level II. This is the second time such notification has been given in 2019.

On March 18, 2019, MARD issued the list of appointed fishing ports that are eligible for exploited marine product traceability with nine of them being located in Phú Yên and Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu. Only Cát Lở of Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu are classified level I and the others level II.

There have been 47 fishing ports that can provide traceability confirmation of marine products. This is a countermeasure for removing “yellow card” warning by IUU.
