Australis aquaculture breaks ground on high-tech processing plant in Vietnam
Australis Aquaculture has begun construction on a state-of-the-art processing facility in Vietnam, marking a significant step forward in the company’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and product quality.
Specializing in sustainably ocean-farmed barramundi, Australis says the new facility will streamline operations while boosting efficiency and environmental performance. A key feature of the facility is nitrogen freezing technology, which significantly reduces ice crystal formation, helping preserve the integrity and texture of the fish.
In addition to freezing advancements, the facility will include integrated coating, breading, dehydration, and tray-packing lines. CEO Josh Goldman anticipates these upgrades will reduce waste, enhance traceability, and create a more cohesive production system.
“This new investment, developed in partnership with an experienced Vietnamese real estate firm, reflects our deep commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability,” Goldman said. “By moving processing closer to our farms and incorporating cutting-edge technology, we’ll be able to deliver an even better product to our customers.”
Australis Aquaculture operates across North America and Southeast Asia, with this new facility poised to strengthen its global supply chain and sustainability efforts.
