Trà Vinh: Start building first high-tech shrimp breeding centre

Last Saturday, Thông Thuận Group started the construction of a high-tech shrimp breeding centre in the southern Trà Vinh Province’s Trường Long Hòa Commune.

10.2 – hectare centre is being built at a cost of VND 95 bil (USD 4.2 mil) with capacity of 5.5 billion of shrimp manufacturing. This is the first high-tech shrimp breeding centre in Trà Vinh province, which is expected to support farmers to raise shrimp in sea waters and blackish waters.

Nguyễn Xuân Cường, minister of agriculture and rural development, hailed the province’s efforts in bringing in private investment for the centre, creating favorable conditions for agricultural restructuring and for exploiting the aquaculture potential efficiently.

He urged the investor to complete construction and start operations at the centre as per schedule and in doing so protects the environment. The first batch of high-quality shrimps expected to launch in October this year.
